Product Overview
905-063 is an upland vest, and upland means distance. Pheasant, chukar, grouse and quail are taken on foot, behind a dog, across three to eight kilometres of stubble before the first flush — so the vest has to carry a day of gear without becoming the reason the day ends early.
The build is 900D polyester on the load-bearing panels and 600D ripstop where weight matters, laminated with a PU backing and a DWR face. Total weight is 1.31 kg. The rear game bag opens along its full top edge for a bird to be dropped in without unclipping anything, and every restock pocket — shells, calls, water — sits where a hand already travels.
Two colours, one rule: the orange is not decoration. Blaze panels on the front, sides and back keep the wearer legal and visible in states that require it, while the olive body keeps the silhouette broken for the bird.
Four Load Paths
Instead of adding pockets until the vest is heavy, this pattern assigns every item to one of four paths: the back carries the harvest, the front carries what gets reloaded, the sides carry water and tools, the frame carries the weight to the hips.
01 Back: a game bag that stays open
The rear compartment measures 19.5 × 35 × 19 cm and opens along the entire top edge, so a bird goes in one-handed while the other hand still holds the gun. A PU-backed liner keeps feathers, blood and September heat from soaking into the shell, and the bag is vented enough that a limit does not arrive home warm. Above it sits a flat zip pocket for gloves and a licence.
02 Front: the reload path
The front panel is 45 × 24.5 × 5 cm of organised storage: elastic shell loops sized for 12 and 20 gauge sit at the waistline where a hand falls naturally, with a zip pocket above for calls, a choke wrench and a licence holder. Nothing on the front panel requires two hands or a look down.
03 Sides: water and tools, upright
A rigid bottle sleeve holds 500–1000 ml upright against the ribs with a cinch top, so it does not swing on a turn or leak into the bag. Beside it, dual hook-and-loop side pouches take a dog lead, a forceps, or a second water bottle; the full-length MOLLE webbing on the orange panel accepts a rangefinder pouch or a shell carrier when the day calls for more.
04 Frame: weight onto the hips
A four-point harness adjusts across a 16"–22" torso range with buckles at the shoulder, chest and waist. The waist belt is a quick-release Duraflex unit that transfers load to the hips, and the back panel is a 3D spacer mesh with a spine-contoured arc — the two details that decide whether kilometre six feels like kilometre two.

What Changes Across a Season
October, standing corn. Vest loaded light: two boxes of shells, one bottle, no extras. The MOLLE panel stays bare so nothing catches on stalks.
November, cattails and creek bottom. Waterproofing does the work. The PU backing keeps the game bag from wicking swamp water into the vest, and the DWR face sheds reed moisture instead of soaking it up as weight.
Late season, bare ground and long walks. This is where 1.31 kg matters. A vest that gains half a kilo from absorbed water is a vest that gets left in the truck by January; the laminate and the mesh back panel are why this one does not.
